Project FashionWorks

Dream of being a fashion designer… Find out what it’s all about!

Renowned designer and educator, Elana Carello, is holding workshops for young fashion designers and merchandisers ages 8 – 19. Create professional-quality work for college portfolios or just have some fun and make new friends.

Elana Carello will work individually with the up and coming designers and merchandisers, to clearly develop their ideas and showcase their personal style. All levels of experience are welcome, regardless of whether you’ve taken art classes before or never picked up a drawing pencil. All you need is a love for fashion and the desire to learn!

Choose TWEEN or TEEN class:

TWEEN class: Young designers ages 8 – 12 learn about fashion design at this fun and educational course. As always, no experience is necessary, a love for fashion and the desire to learn!

New call-to-action

Make your own Red Carpet and Runway fashions using our original paper dolls and your personal point of view! Create your own Fashion Magazine, design and execute an outfit for a Barbie doll, and design and model a Newspaper dress for a musical Fashion Runway Show! Those are just a few of the many projects we will complete in the week-long fashion summer camp. Friends and family are invited to view the Fashion Show on the last day. For young designers 8-12. This class sometimes fills up very quickly. We can only accommodate 10 students so please confirm your spot early to avoid disappointment.

TEEN class: Young designers ages 13 – 19 learn professional standards in fashion design at this fun and educational course.

As always, no experience is necessary, a love for fashion and the desire to learn! The workshop will cover the essentials of fashion including design vocabulary, sketching fashion figures, using markers, and understanding how to use colors and fabric to develop an illustrated men’s or women’s fashion collection.

Elana will work individually with the up and coming designers to clearly develop their skills and showcase their personal style. At the end of the program, final projects will be presented. Friends and family are invited to attend the final presentation with a gallery-style opening.

Students will create a mood board and a collection of four to eight sketches. If time allows, we will dress a Barbie model to go with the collection. Every student receives a Certificate of Achievement and a Project FashionWorks sketchbook.
