Camp Reece is a sleep-away camp for special needs children with low average and above cognitive functioning and adaptive skills.
We serve both boys and girls ranging from ages 10 through 17. Our camp is located at Skidmore College which provides an ideal setting for our campers with multiple meal choices, security, and the comfort of sleeping in dorms.
At Camp Reece, we offer a wide range of activities, each specifically designed to meaningfully engage campers while teaching skills, building confidence, improving self-esteem, encouraging social-emotional growth, and, of course, having fun!
Our groups consist of 8 campers to 3 counselors, ensuring personalized attention and guidance to their summer camp experience.
Our skilled and caring staff members differentiate instruction and modify activities whenever needed to ensure campers of all levels, abilities, and ages can participate fully and successfully. We acknowledge every accomplishment and never miss the opportunity to provide positive feedback and recognition.
Campers learn about themselves and explore the world around them through hands-on activities, such as organic gardening, culinary arts, graphic design, and outdoor photography just to name a few in addition to weekly, full-day adventure trips. Our trips, in the heart of the Adirondack, include white water rafting, high ropes, theme parks, and other exciting area attractions.
At Camp Reece, your child will explore new and exciting possibilities and stretch their boundaries of what can be achieved, while creating a lifetime of memories of fun with friends that they will carry with them long after summer’s end.
