Club SciKidz Dallas – Science Camps

The leader in summer science camps.

hands on science, public schools

Most parents understand how important it is for their child to always be growing in some way or another.  Which is why come summertime, many of us worry that our little ones won’t be getting the intellectual stimulation they need to succeed in the coming school year.

Luckily, Club SciKidz Dallas offers 24 different themed science camps for kids to keep their brains engaged over the summer- and they’ll even have FUN doing it!

When: June, July, August

Where: Dallas, Addison

Hours: Mon-Fri, 9-4 (optional pre/post camp available)

Cost: $245-$295

Still, many parents have questions about science camp:

“Will he be able to complete all the projects and experiments the camp has ready for him?”

“Will she get anything out of all of this?”

“Will he actually enjoy going to science camp?”

The answer to each of these questions is, of course, a huge “YES” – because Club SciKidz Dallas is the premier science camp destination for families in the Dallas area.  Here are 3 reasons why your child should join us for a week of science fun this summer:

We Foster Exploration

With such a huge focus on assessment in today’s schools, students often tend to shy away from exploration. Unfortunately, it’s been instilled in them that problems typically have a single “correct” solution.  Of course, this is not always the case – especially when it comes to science. This is where exploration and experimentation really come into play: we help your child understand that sometimes, they just need to dig in and get their hands dirty! We’ll instill in them the notion that there’s often more than one “right” way to solve a problem.  Sometimes, the best solution isn’t always the obvious one!

We Encourage Innovation and Creativity

Even though kids are much more imaginative than most adults, our culture often downplays the importance of such outside-the-box thinking – leaving children to adopt a concrete view of the world way too early in life.  At Club SciKidz Dallas, we do the opposite- we validate and celebrate creative, imaginative, and innovative thought!  A cloud can be more than just a cloud; it can be a dinosaur, an ice cream sundae, or a snowy hill to race down on a sled. A cardboard box can be a spaceship, race car, or a robot. It’s all up to your child’s imagination!

A week of camp at Club SciKidz Dallas will give your child the opportunity to think freely and try new things without fear of being “wrong.” This will help them understand that “being wrong” isn’t a reflection of their abilities (or lack thereof); it’s simply a sign that they’re willing to expand their comfort zone in the interest of discovering something new.

We Help Them Appreciate The “Boring” Side of Science

Okay, hear us out: not every little thing your kiddo does at science camp is going to have a “wow” factor, as much as we hate to admit it.  There’s no denying that setting up a new experiment (and cleaning up afterward) isn’t nearly as fun as actually doing the experiment.

But, of course, these steps are necessary in order to make the experiment go off as planned.  Learning the process of “doing science” is a critical skill that can translate into all areas of life- whether it’s cooking a yummy dessert at home, or persevering through a not-so-exciting chore like loading the dishwasher.  Children do need to learn that even small, seemingly insignificant steps in a process can impact the outcome of something bigger.

And, of course, once your child completes the project at the end of their camp week, they’ll be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor!  The product that they’ll make – whether it’s a remote-controlled rover, a thrilling video game, or a weather station – will serve as proof that working diligently through the “boring” parts of the process is well worth the effort!
